Drawing, collecting, and reading animal forms.

Across a seven-meter scroll, more than one hundred images from four historical eras are brought into a single sequence. Collage, drawing, and cyanotype trace how animals have served as sacred figures, moral symbols, and political signs — and how those meanings were made, repeated, and contested.

At the university biology museum, my work sat between the collection and the visitor: preparing research-grade beetle specimens, cataloging and correcting records, restoring displays, and guiding visitors through the exhibits. The museum's holdings of 50,000+ specimens are the institution's collection — the counts above describe my own work within it.
